About Ann Perkins – Rashida Jones’ character on Parks and Recreation

In one of her many well-known roles, Rashida Jones plays Ann Perkins in NBC comedy series Park and Recreation. At the start of Season One, she is dating Andy Dwyer, played by Chris Pratt who is also in many comedy films. Ann meets Leslie Knope, played by Amy Poehler, after Andy falls into a construction pit and Ann campaigns for it to be filled in. The two women quickly develop a strong friendship that lasts throughout the later series as well and becomes a large part of the show.

Ann is a nurse, who gets embroiled in the affairs of the Parks and Recreation department, as well as the relationships that go on inside it. She has a very friendly character, and would be a good friend to play some cheeky bingo with or to tell your problems to. She has proven her friendship to Leslie many times and is very caring and nice. After she breaks up with Andy, because she has matured and he hasn’t she begins a string of flings and relationships, including with Parks and Recreation employees Chris Traeger and Tom Haverford. Anne’s relationship with the latter character seems somewhat unnatural, especially as everything Tom does makes her cringe. However they last a surprisingly long time, breaking up continuously and getting back together again.

Parks and Recreation has some other great characters as well, including Ron Swanson who is played by Nick Offerman. Ron is about as manly as you can get, liking to build things and eat meat. April Ludgate is another entertaining character, played by Aubrey Plaza. She is very cynical and does not care about virtually anything. She eventually marries Andy and the two of them have an unusual yet very sweet dynamic.
